MALAYSIAN AIR FORCE
CONTRACTORISATION
OF MAINTENANCE SUPPORT
OF FOKKER F28-1000 AND FALCON 900
VVIP AIRCRAFT
A contract signing ceremony between AIROD and MINISTRY of DEFENSE, MALAYSIA was held on February 19th,1999 at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, Kuala Lumpur. The Government was represented by YBhg Tan Sri Dato' Azizan bin Husain, Secretary-General for the Ministry of Defence whilst AIROD is represented by YBhg Tan Sri Dato' Ahmad bin Johan, President of AIROD. The Honourable Minister of Defence, Yang Berhormat Dato' Abang Abu Bakar bin Datuk Bandar Abang Haji Mustapha has kindly consented to grace the occasion.
In providing maintenance,
AIROD will be positioning a dedicated team with No.2 Squadron
at the RMAF base in SUBANG, whose duties include providing
husbandry duties (i.e. refueling, marshaling, towing,
pre-flight and post-flight checks) and line maintenance
check/servicing. The contract also includes maintenance of
workshop equipment and aircraft support equipment to be taken
over from the Government.
AIROD/ROYAL
MALAYSIAN NAVY CONTRACT RENEWAL
A contract renewal between
AIROD and MINISTRY of DEFENSE, MALAYSIA was held on June
22nd,1998 at the RMN Lumut Naval Base, Perak. The contract
was signed by YBhg Tan Sri Dato' Azizan bin Husain,
Secretary-General for the Ministry of Defence and by YBhg Tan
Sri Dato' Ahmad bin Johan, President of AIROD.
A contract renewal between
AIROD and SOLAR TURBINES & SERVICES was held on March
25th, 1998. The signatories were YBhg Tan Sri Dato' Ahmad bin
Johan, President of AIROD, Yang Berusaha Tuan Haji Kamarul
Baharin, Director of Turboservices Sdn Bhd and Mr. Chris
Woods, Managing Director of Solar Turbines International
Company. This contract extends the repair and overhaul
services of industrial gas turbine engines up to October
2001.
PUTD
GRADUATION CEREMONY
A graduation ceremony was held for Pasukan Udara Tentera Darat (PUTD) Batch II trainees on February 27th, 1998 at AIROD. PUTD or Royal Malaysian Army Air Wing was established in March 11th, 1995 and operated ten (10) units of Aerospatiale Alouette III helicopters at Kluang Air Base, Johor. The PUTD graduates had undergone seventeen (17) months of basic engineering as well as advance airframe, powerplant and avionics system training at AIROD technical development facility.
