AIROD was today officially presented with the ISO 9002 : 1994 Quality System Certification by a representative of the Internationally Recognised Certification Body, Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI) of the United Kingdom. The official award ceremony was witnessed by the Honourable Prime Minister, Dato' Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad at the AIROD facility located at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport Complex, Subang, Selangor.
The ISO certification,for provision of aircraft maintenance and modification, overhaul and rectification of aircraft engines, aero-components is not a mandatory regulatory requirement by Airworthiness Authorities but provides AIROD with additional milestone and platform to demonstrate to its valued customers the emphasis that it places on its Quality Systemas a whole in providing quality services and meeting customer's requirements and implied needs.
For AIROD, the ISO 9002 Certification is a natural transition from its stringent quality and inspection systems which are based on the U.S. DoD MIL-Q-9859A, MIl-I-45208A and NATO AQAPS Military Compliant Systems which has since been expanded to accomodate relevant national and international civil certification requirements.
